Verifying the SCCM Version and the Console Version

From Configuration Manger Console, from the ribbon, click the down arrow, click about Configuration Manager. You should see Version 1910 and the latest console version displayed, which is 5.1910.

Now let’s checkout our Site Server Version

  • From Administration, click Site Configuration, then click Sites.
  • Right click on your site in this case it’s SA1 – ServerAcademy Site
  • Click properties
  • Click General.
  • You should see the current Version (8913) and the current build number which is 8913 as well displayed.

Now verify that our boot images have been updated.

  • From Software Library, click Operating System, then click Boot Images, verify that the version is 10.0.18362.1. These boot images will be compatible with Windows 10 version 1909

Now let’s Verify that our Client Packages have been updated

  • From Software Library, click Application Management, then click Packages
  • Before the update, the date for the Client package was 11/22/2019

After the Update, the Date is now: 4-30-2020

Before the update the User State Migration Tool for Windows was version 17763.1 which is from ADK 1809

After the update the User State Migration Tool Version for Windows is 10.0.18362.1

Now we need to  Verify that the date created for all packages matches the Configuration Manager update date and approximate time. Our packages were updated on 4/30/2020 at around 9:40 PM

  • From Administration, click Updates and Servicing, Configuration Manager 1910

• Here we see that the Configuration Manager install date was 4/30/2020 with an installation time of 9:34 PM

Which shows that The client packages and the CM updated at about the same time.

How to automatically install the new CM client to all clients in the Hierarchy

• From Administration, Site Configuration, Sites, click Hierarchy Settings, then Client Upgrade

• Then check Upgrade all the clients in the hierarchy using the production client.

Now lets take a look at the current Windows 10 client version. This is before the upgrade

Login to SAWS01, from the search bar type con, press return, click control panel, then click programs and features, then double click configuration Manager

Here is the Configuration Manager Client Properties on SAWS01. Notice the version is 8790, which is Configuration Manager 1902

After a few minutes let’s go back to SAWS01, from windows search type con, click the control panel, now double click configuration manager. From the general tab we see that the client has been updated to 8913, which is configuration manager 1910.
