I cannot promote second dc due to this message “You must supply an user account name”, which I have.

Hi profile avatar Paul Ma

You can try with the domain administrator and the password. If this does not work, you can add a new user to AD, add it to the domain admins group and then try promoting the second server using these credentials.

Active Directory Operations Master Shows ERROR in the RID, PDC, and Infrastructure tab on SADC02 but I was able to force the transfer and completed the lab.

Hi profile avatar Susan David-Aaron

To properly score the installation check, you do a Custom installation. The script checks if you choose a Desktop Experience and if a password of Pa$$w0rd (with a cero) when asked for credentials during installation.

Hi profile avatar Lawrence Wayne Austin

I see that you have completed the lab for Section 4: Adding a Second Domain Controller including Section 5: Active Directory Backups. Let us know if that looks different from your end.

Hi profile avatar Savio Augustine

If you are having issues with the Domain Admin account and credentials are ok check if there’s network connectivity between both with name resolution working. Try pinging the server and using its IP Address as the DNS of the second one.

I cannot access my course, Active Directory & Identity with Windows Server. No matter what link I click on, or how many times, it always brings me to this “Comments” page. I need to work on this now while I have a moment but this site is broken. 👎
